Many people will remember This Is Your Life, the television programme that celebrated the stories, achievements, and milestones of remarkable individuals.
Inspired by that idea, I created my own version for my father's 80th birthday. After the celebration, I asked him if he had enjoyed it. With his characteristic sense of humour, he replied, "It was better than a funeral." His words stayed with me.
Too often, we wait until someone has passed away before we gather together to tell their story, share memories, and celebrate the impact they have had on our lives. I believe we should do more of that while people are here to hear it, enjoy it, and feel the love that surrounds them.
